What to do with an old Plusnet router

Returning our router helps us to recycle it in an environmentally friendly way. Find out how you can return and recycle a Plusnet router for free.

Updated 19 August 2026

Why it’s important you return our router

Plusnet routers are provided on a loan basis, so never throw our router in your household rubbish or leave it to gather dust in a cupboard. It’s important they’re returned to us when no longer needed.

Just a gentle reminder. If you signed up after 1 Feb 2024 and you don’t return our router, you’ll be charged a £50 fee. If this applies to you then we will send you a return request via email/SMS including a returns label and tracking code.

We reuse and recycle our routers

If you've recently left us, and you signed up or recontracted before 1st February 2024, then you do not have to return your router to us.

If you want to recycle your old router we’ll take any working parts from it and see if they can be reused. We'll dispose of the rest of it in an environmentally friendly way. So it’s good for you and the planet.

How to return our router

You can book an at-home collection via Royal Mail for a small fee.
