Changing your Plusnet broadband product
Answers to questions about changing your existing broadband products.
Choose your new product on our Offers and Upgrades page and follow the on-screen instructions.
A product change will be scheduled to take place on your next billing date, so it won't take any longer than a month.
Residential customers
You can switch between Unlimited Fibre and Unlimited Fibre Extra for free without affecting your current contract.
Legacy products (no longer sold)
Customers on a contracted product can switch to Unlimited without affecting their current contract.
Customers on a no-contract product can switch to Unlimited and choose whether to start a new contract.
If you switch from standard to fibre optic broadband:
- You'll start a new 12 or 18 month contract
- Installation is free if you take or have a Plusnet phone package, or £25 if you only take broadband
- We'll send you a free router (P&P charge applies)
If you switch from a fibre product sold before 18th December 2012 to a current fibre product, you'll start a new 12 or 18 month contract.
Business customers
You can switch between products of the same type (standard broadband to standard broadband or fibre optic to fibre optic) for free without affecting your current contract. You may also choose to start a longer contract.
If you switch from standard to fibre optic broadband:
- You'll need to choose between starting a new 12 month or 24 month contract
- Installation is free and we'll send you a free router (P&P charge applies)
Afraid not. To switch between Residential and Business, or vice versa, you'll need to close your current account and re-open it under the new product. The easiest way to do this is by speaking to our Customer Options team on 0800 013 2632.
